Bird Waste contains a chemical compound called Uric Acid that is corrosive enough to eat through an unprotected vehicle’s painted surface. The Uric Acid levels in bird waste is relatively high, reaching pH levels of somewhere between 3 to 4.5 – more acidic than decomposing insects and most forms of Acid Rain. Add the sun’s powerful U.V. rays to the equation and you have an even bigger, baked on problem. As the sun warms the vehicle’s painted surfaces covered in bird waste, the clearcoat expands, allowing some of that acidic uric acid to penetrate. At night, as everything cools down, things start to contract, and the clearcoat starts to harden again, only now, it hardens around the newly incorporated uric acid. Left unresolved, vehicle paint damage from bird waste can result in as little as 48 hours.
ECP’s patented Diamond Ceramic Exterior Protection® is the first ever long-term protective coating to combine nano diamonds with ceramic technology. Together, these two technologies maintain 97.8% of your vehicle’s gloss and shine over 7 years, while filling in the open pores of the factory painted surfaces to prevent even the most acidic environmental contaminants – such as uric acid found in bird waste – from etching and altering the clearcoat. Diamond Ceramic Exterior Protection® also contains a broad spectrum U.V. inhibitor to prevent these acidic substances from baking into the vehicle’s paint. The result is a smooth, reflective paint finish free from environmentally induced cosmetic blemishes.
