Brake Dust

By ECP Incorporated

Brake dust is comprised of iron, carbon, and other metallic particles that become airborne from the grinding of the brake pad and rotor. The heat of this braking friction combined with the heat of the wheel spinning can cause these dust particles to bond to a vehicle’s unprotected alloy wheels and paint. The result – when these metallic particles get wet from rain, snow, or dew, they create tiny, orange visible spots that over time can produce permanent damage, compromising the appearance of your vehicle’s exterior surfaces.

ECP’s patented Diamond Ceramic Exterior Protection® is the first ever long-term protective coating to combine nano diamonds with ceramic technology. Together, these two technologies maintain 97.8% of your vehicle’s gloss and shine over 7 years, while filling in the surfaces of the factory painted surfaces to prevent even the most harmful substances – such as brake dust – from damaging the clearcoat. Diamond Ceramic Exterior Protection® also contains a unique polymer blend that creates tight water beading while helping reduce the adhesion of brake dust and other environmental impurities. Contaminants are easily rinsed and removed, without permanent damage to the vehicle’s paint or clearcoat.
